118th Annual Show
To be held at THE LEAPS, KIRKLAND on the western edge of the Lake District National Park
on WEDNESDAY 26TH AUGUST 2026
Entry Fee is £6.00 for adults and children under the age of 16 are free and our gates open to the public from 9.30 am.

Although the show is in a rural location it is easily accessible and benefits from an ideal location only one mile from the shores of Ennerdale Water and the Wild Ennerdale Valley.

Activities take place all day based around the traditional sports and pastimes of the area. These include the showing of sheep, horses and dogs of all shapes and sizes. Vintage machinery reminds us of the rural scene not that long ago, and the sport of hound trailing is still well supported in West Cumbria, with four races throughout the afternoon, you can have a flutter with the local bookmakers who will be on the field.
Children’s sports and the more demanding fell races fill the programme in the early afternoon, these are open to anyone and entries are taken on the field, you never know, you might be the next and beloved late Joss Naylor.
Cumberland and Westmorland wrestling takes centre stage in the late afternoon, give it a go, there are classes for all abilities and all are welcome. Add to this the industrial and produce marquee, bursting with locally made and grown items for display.
Amusements areas and refreshments to suit all tastes from locally brewed ale to wholesome Cumbrian food and ice cream make this a really enjoyable day out. The Show involves the local school and benefits greatly from the wider community which give it the feel of an old style country show.
You won’t see the Red Arrows or the White Helmets, but you will have a great day out.
